The Architecture of Betrayal
A Seat at the Table is a psychological unraveling about intimacy, control, and the stories we tell ourselves when the truth is too costly to examine. When Jason's marriage ends without warning, he believes he is the one who was wronged. But the further he looks, the more he finds — and the more he finds, the less certain he becomes of who he actually is.
Everyone at the table knew something. Not everyone chose to say so. Betrayal isn't always an affair. Sometimes it's the decision to look away.
About the Author
Raina J. Drexel writes psychological fiction that explores the quiet tensions within families and the stories we tell to protect what we love. Her work examines the quiet cost of staying — in marriages, in families, in versions of ourselves we've outgrown but haven't yet found the courage to leave behind. She prefers to remain private and let the work speak for itself.

I definitely did not expect the ending. The story has twists and turns that you never see coming. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one. Highly recommend.

Definitely a good read. There a lot of shock factors and twists throughout the book. Kind of reminded me of The Teacher by Freida Mcfadden. You gotta read both.

A Gripping, Unforgettable Thriller That Leaves You Wanting More
A Seat at the Table by Raina J Drexel is the kind of book that pulls you in from the very first page and refuses to let go. This isn’t just a story—it’s an emotional, suspense-filled ride through relationships, secrets, and the consequences of choices that linger far longer than expected.
What makes this novel truly stand out is how masterfully it explores complex human dynamics—marriage, loyalty, friendship, and the hidden layers people carry beneath the surface. Every character feels real, flawed, and deeply intertwined in ways that keep you guessing. Just when you think you understand what’s happening, the narrative shifts and challenges your assumptions in the best possible way.
Drexel’s storytelling is sharp, immersive, and incredibly cinematic. The tension builds steadily, creating a sense of unease that keeps you turning pages late into the night. There’s a powerful balance between emotional depth and suspense, making it not only thrilling but also thought-provoking. You find yourself constantly asking: How well do we really know the people closest to us?
Without giving anything away, this is a story full of twists, hidden truths, and moments that will leave you stunned. It’s one of those rare books where everything connects in ways you don’t see coming—but once you do, it’s impossible to forget.
By the time you reach the end, you’re not just satisfied—you’re hungry for more.
I genuinely cannot wait for the next book in the series to see what unfolds next with the lead in final twist presented at the end of this amazing book. If the first installment is any indication, we’re in for something even bigger.
If you love suspense, layered characters, and stories that keep you thinking long after the final page, this is a must-read.
